Being a stay at home mom with an eleven month old girl, a 4 year old boy and a 5 year old girl, I'm always on the lookout for fun things to do that get them away from the tv. This is stuff that works for us!
Just a couple of notes:
1- I've labled most of these ideas for baby fun and toddler fun because those are what I have. :) Lot of these ideas are great (or can easily be adapted) for older kids. 2- Anything and everything can pose a risk for a child in one way or another. If you use any of these ideas, please supervise your children and do what you know is best for them.
It's amazing how the simplest things can often be the most fun. My kids LOVE this one. Grab all your pillows and blankets and throw them into the middle of the floor. Let your kids dive in!
This is so awesome! My only ideas are to tell the Boys "no" when they ask to watch a movie or tv (I let them watch one movie OR tv-session per day, and that would be in the morning when they wake up earlier than I want to wake up. They only watch till it's time for Nums (aka breakfast) and then that's it for the day). I let the Boys pretty much have the run of the house, but they know that they can only get out one toy at a time (doesn't always work). The living room doubles as a basketball court, hockey rink, race track, artists' studio and mess room. Always mess room. They're always asking to watch a movie or tv, but I'm pretty firm (aka no fun?). But it's always the same things every day that we do instead, so I am loving the idea of this blog. YAY YOU!
