Being a stay at home mom with an eleven month old girl, a 4 year old boy and a 5 year old girl, I'm always on the lookout for fun things to do that get them away from the tv. This is stuff that works for us!
Just a couple of notes:
1- I've labled most of these ideas for baby fun and toddler fun because those are what I have. :) Lot of these ideas are great (or can easily be adapted) for older kids. 2- Anything and everything can pose a risk for a child in one way or another. If you use any of these ideas, please supervise your children and do what you know is best for them.
We had a lot of fun with tape this morning. We made roads for my daughter's cars! We even made a little parking lot. You could get really creative with this by accessorizing with toys (doll houses, little people, trees, animals...)
Idea from The Toddler's Busy Book by Trish Kuffner
Funny to see this, because just the other day I taped hop-scotch for my little girl (how else do you play hop-scotch on a rainy day?). Her 2 yr old brother wanted his own just so he could pull up and play with the tape.

How cute! Again, I think even my older kids would get a kick out of that!
I saw that on your floor this morning. I wonderd if it was the new idea. I'm with Amanda, my older kids would love this too!
We tried this today and Forrest was loving it! Even little Nadia got excited and made "vroom, vroom" noises. What a great idea!
